Ing. Dr. Albert Forde

Ing. Dr. Albert Forde is a transportation specialist with over 10 years of experience planning, designing and operating transportation systems. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Dr. Forde received his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Transportation from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), in New Jersey, USA. Â He served as the Senior Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Transport and Aviation. Prior to Joining the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, he was the Traffic and Transportation Engineer in the Office of Presidential Infrastructure Initiative (OPII) at State House. Dr. Forde is an Associate Lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department at Fourah Bay College. Dr. Forde has worked as an Assistant Engineer in the Division of Statewide Planning at the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) in New Jersey, USA. Dr. Forde also worked as a Transportation Engineer at the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Resource Center, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), New Jersey,USA.
Dr. Forde’s work and research interests include, but are not limited to, planning, design and operation of transportation facilities and intelligent transportation systems (ITS); and traffic modelling on urban street segments. Dr Forde has extensive experience in the planning, design, installation, and operation of traffic signals, transportation safety planning, and travel demand modelling. As the Consultant Traffic Engineer on the World Bank-funded Integrated and Resilient Urban Mobility Project(IRUMP), Dr. Forde planned, designed and supervised the installation of traffic signals at seven critical intersections in Freetown, Sierra Leone.Â
